More Planning

Well thank you Exodus for moving our cycling round Cuba trip three days earlier. Phew our departure from the UK can be moved earlier. So we will now be leaving on 14th August as BA flights are every other day which only leaves 36 hours between the closing ceremony at the Olympics and departure from Gatwick. Many thank to Tim and Vanessa for letting us stay with them for that time.

Now the January panic at work is over it is full steam ahead with our preparations. The letting agent has been consulted and the major clear out of 14 years clutter in the house is slowly being sorted. The local recycling centre may need to get a new skip in especially for us!

A trip to the Destinations show at Earls Court has resulted in another mass of brochures to digest and provide vital information on places to see. Dave is keen to climb Kilimanjaro and went to a talk in one lecture theatre while Janet was in the other one hearing all about the rest of Africa and the many exciting places to visit and wildlife to see. We will not be there until May 2013 which still seems a long way off so there is many hours to decide where to go and how to travel.

The Olympic volunteering plans are also progressing with our early morning trip to Wembley arena along with 8,000 other Volunteers to hear 2012-02-04_10.27.54[1]Jonathan Edwards, Eddie Izzard and even Seb Coe spurred us on with the exciting prospect of busy days helping the games run smoothly and also encourage us to read our Games Maker Workbook.

We also enjoyed a day in the velodrome at the cycling world cup. Fantastic venue.SAM_0446
