I don’t know whether this is going to be a help or hindrance to you, but since you’re going through central & Eastern Turkey…
Pamukkale, Cappadocia are really incredible places to visit for both natural and man-made scenery. There’s an ancient city in Cappadocia that goes underground for 9 stories!!!
Similarily, Van & Diyarbakir are interesting places culturally. (Van for its Kurdish influence, Diyarbakir for Arabic)
